CUETS
Wins
1999 Training for Excellence Award
April
15, 1999 - Saskatoon - Yesterday, the Saskatchewan
Labour Force Development Board announced the recipients
of the 1999 Saskatchewan Training for Excellence Awards.
Training for Excellence Awards recognize significant
efforts to create workplace training programs and services
that meet the needs of the individual and the business
community.
Among the
winners was CUETS (Credit Union Electronic Transaction
Services) for the introduction of the innovative Developmental
Business Analyst Career Laddering Program. Career laddering
is based on the belief that by integrating the career
aspirations of the individual with the future of the
organization, both will gain. Successful career laddering
encompasses opportunities throughout the individual's
career and throughout the organizational structure.
CUETS' program provides the organization with an additional
long term staffing strategy in the intensely competitive
Information Technology field.
Organizational Support Director Bob Lane accepted the
award on behalf of CUETS and noted the importance of creating
strong career progression opportunities for employees.
"This program is helping our organization meet credit
union needs for reliable, high quality payment products
and services, while at the same time providing many of
our employees and recent post-secondary graduates with
great opportunities to build a strong career in Information
Technology."
Previous
winners of the Career Laddering Award include Crown
Life, Consumers Cooperative Refinery Ltd, and Bank of
Montreal. Other winners recognized at the 1999 Training
for Excellence Awards include Saskatchewan Wheat Pool,
Regina Public, Regina Catholic and Buffalo Plains School
Divisions, La Ronge Indian Band and Saskatchewan Recording
Industry Association.
